SJVN bags 83 MW floating solar project in Madhya Pradesh

SJVN Limited has bagged 83 MW floating solar project to be developed at Omkareshwar in district Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh.

The project has been secured at Rs 3.70 per unit on build, own and operate basis in a e-reverse auction organised by REWA Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL). The estimated cost to develop the project will be Rs 5.85 billion. Upon completion, the project will produce 187 million units (MUs) in the first year and 4,410 MUs over a period of 25 years. The project will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 216,074 tonnes over 25 years. SJVN will implement this project, along with other renewable projects of 4,090.5 MW capacity through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited. RUMSL and SJVN will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a period of 25 years. The project will be commissioned over the next 21 months from the date of signing of PPA.
