Gensol bags SECI’s auction to develop 30 MW floating solar projects

Gensol Engineering has been declared as winner in the auction to develop 30 MW floating solar projects with a bid of Rs 2.32 billion.

The projects will be developed at three thermal power plants (TPPs) located in Jharkhand and West Bengal. The tender was issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in June 2022 for developing projects at Damodar Valley Corporation’s TPPs in Koderma with a capacity of 6 MW, Mejia with a capacity of 14 MW, and Raghunathpur with a capacity of 10 MW. The scope of work under the project comprises project design, engineering, and commissioning, as well as comprehensive operations and maintenance services for a period of ten years. According to the tender guidelines, the floating solar projects must be completed within a time frame of 12 months. The cells and modules used in the projects must be sourced only from the models and manufacturers listed in List-I of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s approved list of modules and manufacturers.
