Ayana Renewables and NTPC Renewable Energy Limited have bagged a tender from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to procure 250 MW of flexible and schedulable power from grid-connected renewable energy projects with an energy storage facility.
Ayana and NTPC won capacities of 150 MW and 100 MW respectively by quoting Rs 9 per kWh each. The projects chosen in this tender will be eligible for two-part tariffs. The energy supplied during solar generation hours will be eligible for a tariff of Rs 2.42 per kWh. The applicable tariff under the power purchase agreement (PPA) will include tariffs for both solar and non-solar generation hours. It will be set for the entire duration of the PPA. If the generation exceeds 10 per cent of the declared annual capacity utilisation factor during any contract year, the successful bidders will be free to sell it to any other entity, but MSEDCL will have first right of refusal. The tender was issued in August 2022.
