IEX becomes India’s first carbon-neutral power exchange

The Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) has become India’s first carbon-neutral power exchange. IEX now uses market-based tradable instruments to offset its carbon emissions. To reduce its carbon footprint, IEX voluntarily cancelled certified emission reductions from clean projects registered under the clean development mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and used market-based tradable instruments. EKI Energy acted as the sustainability partner by providing advisory and consultancy services in this climate action exercise. This will help IEX members and participants in reducing their Scope 3 emissions by building a greener value chain. IEX is committed to contributing towards achieving India’s net zero emissions target by creating a favourable ecosystem.
