Oman’s OETC acquires transmission assets from Tanweer

Oman’s high voltage grid developer, Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC), has recently acquired electrical transmission networks in the Governorate of Musandam and the Wilayat (province) of Haima in Al Wusta Governorate from Rural Areas Electricity Company (Tanweer).

With the acquisition, OETC has become the owner and operator of these assets, which include four 132 kV grid stations at Tibat, Khasab Wilayat, Dibba Wilayat, and Haima Wilayat, as well as the associated 100-km-long, 132 kV transmission lines. The capacity of the transmission network in the Governorate of Musandam is around 2.337 MW. The acquisition is in line with OETC’s strategic plans to connect all wilayats and governorates of Oman with the Main Interconnected Transmission Network.
