Powergrid emerges as successful bidder under TBCB to establish inter-state transmission system

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has been selected as a successful bidder under tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) to establish five inter-state transmission system projects on build, own operate and transfer basis.

The company has received letters of intent for these projects. The first project is Transmission Network Expansion in Gujarat associated with integration of RE projects from Khavda potential RE zone. The project comprises of establishment of 765kV D/C transmission lines passing through the state of Gujarat. The second is Inter-regional ER-WR Interconnection project, which comprises of establishment of 400kV D/C transmission lines traversing through the states of Odisha and Chhattisgarh and bays extension works. The third project is Establishment of Khavda Pooling Station-2 in Khavda RE Park. The project comprises of establishment of a new 765/400kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS) at Khavda in the state of Gujarat. The fourth project is Transmission scheme for evacuation of 4.5GW RE injection at Khavda PS under Phase II- Part B. The project comprises of establishment of 765kV D/C transmission lines passing through the state of Gujarat and bays extension works. Last is Transmission scheme for evacuation of 4.5GW RE injection at Khavda PS under Phase II- Part C. The project comprises establishment of a new 765/400kV substation at Ahmedabad and bays extension work at Navsari in Gujarat and 765kV D/C transmission lines passing through the state of Gujarat.
