Ministry of Coal auctions more mines under commercial auction

The Ministry of Coal has auctioned one mine in Chhattisgarh and one in Odisha under commercial auction on the fifth and sixth day of the e-auction respectively.

The Gare Palma Sector I (East) mine put up for auction in Chhattisgarh was Coal Mines (Special Provisions) and fully explored mine. The total geological reserves for the coal mine is 965 million tonnes (mt) and peak rate capacity (PRC) is 15 mt per annuam (mtpa). Upon operationalisation, it will generate annual revenue of around Rs 19.68 billion calculated at PRC of the coal mines. The mine will attract capital investment of about Rs 22.50 billion. Meanwhile, Burapahar mine put up for auction in Odisha was Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) and a fully explored coal mine. The total geological reserves for the coal mine is 548 mt and PRC is 6 mtpa. Upon operationalisation, it will generate annual revenue of Rs 13.08 billion calculated at PRC of the coal mine, and will attract capital investment of Rs 9 billion.
