CERC notifies draft Sharing of Inter-State Transmission Charges and Losses (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2023

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has notified the draft CERC (Sharing of Inter-State Transmission Charges and Losses) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2023.

As per the draft, the inter-state transmission licensee shall be paid 20 per cent of yearly transmission charges (YTC) of its inter-state transmission system (ISTS) for a period of six months from deemed date of commercial operation (COD) or till commencement of actual power flow, whichever is earlier. The inter-state transmission licensee shall be paid 100 per cent of YTC of its ISTS from seventh month till commencement of actual power flow, in case actual power flow does not commence within a period of 6 months from date of deemed COD. These charges shall be disbursed from charges collected under third bill. The comments, suggestions and objections have been invited from the stakeholders and interested persons on the draft regulations by April 17, 2023.
