SJVN Limited has signed a contract agreement for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of civil and hydro-mechanical works of 382 MW Sunni Dam hydro electric project.
The contract worth Rs 10.98 billion has been signed with Rithwik Projects Private Limited (RPPL). The project is a run-of-river scheme and is being implemented on Satluj River near Khaira village in Shimla and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh. It involves development of six units with a total capacity of 382 MW (5 x 73 MW + 1 x 17 MW). Project is expected to generate 1,382 million units annually at the levelised tariff of Rs 3.90 per unit. The construction activities of various civil components of the project are going on full swing. Infrastructure development to facilitate timely execution of the project and mobilisation of major contractor at project site is at full pace. The project is expected to be completed by November 2027.
