Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) for a 510 MW hybrid project. The plant will have 170 MW of solar and 340 MW of wind power capacity and will be located in Karnataka. The project can potentially save an average of 1,540 million units of CO2 emissions annually for Tata Power-DDL. The project will be commissioned within 24 months of the PPA execution date. TPREL won the project through a competitive bidding process, followed by the release of the letter of award by Tata Power-DDL. With this win, TPREL’s total renewables capacity has reached 6,303 MW, with 3,909 MW and 2,394 MW of installed capacity at various stages of implementation.
