REMCL awards 960 MW of round-the-clock renewable power projects

REMC Limited (REMCL) has, reportedly, allocated 960 MW of renewable energy capacity to four companies.

The winners are required to supply round-the-clock (RTC) renewable power to Indian Railways. NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and Anaya Renewables secured rights to develop 500 MW and 300 MW capacity at a tariff rate of Rs 4.10 per kWh. Meanwhile, Sprng Energy won 100 MW at Rs 3.99 per kWh, and O2 Power secured 60 MW at Rs 4.27 per kWh. Developers are required to set up new projects and cannot supply from commissioned power projects.
