NTPC Limited has signed a supplementary joint venture (JV) agreement with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) for developing nuclear power projects.
Initially, the JV company will develop two pressurised heavy-water reactor projects- the 2×700 MW Chutka Madhya Pradesh Atomic Power Project and the 4×700 MW Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project – which were identified as a part of fleet mode nuclear projects. The supplementary JV agreement between NTPC and NPCIL will help the country in meeting its clean energy commitments to achieve net zero emission target by 2070.
