NGEL and HMEL to collaborate in renewable energy, green hydrogen and green chemicals

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and HPCL Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the field of renewable energy through sourcing of 250 MW renewable energy round-the-clock (RTC) power to meet the requirement of HMEL.

Further, the MoU aims to explore opportunities in the green hydrogen business and its derivatives (green ammonia and green methanol). Notably, as part of increasing renewable energy portfolio, NTPC Limited’s fully owned subsidiary, NGEL, will take up renewable energy parks and projects including business in the area of green hydrogen, energy storage technologies, and RTC renewable power.
