The first 250-MW unit of NHPC Limited’s under-construction Subansiri Lower hydroelectric project (HEP) is expected to be operational by January 2024.
The project is located in Arunachal Pradesh/Assam. The project has eight units of 250 MW each, totalling 2,000 MW. The project has achieved significant progress in dam concreting (14 blocks achieved top level of 210 meters and balance 2 blocks to be completed by June 2023), 37 meter of dam height has been raised with concrete pouring of more than 250,000 cubic meters during last 6 months.
