Saint-Gobain India signs PPA with Vibrant Energy for RTC renewable power

Saint-Gobain India has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Vibrant Energy, a portfolio company of the Macquarie Asset Management’s Green Investment Group, to provide electricity to six local Saint-Gobain sites. Under the agreement, Vibrant Energy will provide Saint-Gobain with 189 GWh of renewable electricity (solar and wind) per year. This will reduce Saint-Gobain’s CO2 emissions in India by around 120,000 tonnes per year. Through wide-ranging initiatives such as the replacement of fossil fuels with biomass, waste heat recovery and reuse, and circularity actions, Saint-Gobain is on track to achieve 100 per cent renewable electricity in India by 2030. With the addition of this project, Saint-Gobain will achieve a renewable energy footprint of 65 per cent across its facilities in India by the end of 2025.
