Mitsubishi and JEL to build 600 MW CCPP in Singapore

A consortium comprising Mitsubishi Power and Jurong Engineering Limited (JEL) has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Sembcorp Cogen Private Limited to develop a 600 MW hydrogen-ready combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Singapore.

Under the contract, Mitsubishi Power will supply M701JAC gas turbine, steam turbine and other main accessory equipment for the plant, while JEL will provide the construction and balance of plant. Additionally, Mitsubishi Power was also awarded a long-term service agreement for the maintenance of major equipment. The plant is scheduled to commence operations in 2026. Once operational, the CCPP will generate electricity for grid and steam for industrial companies on Jurong Island.
