APGENCO synchronises 800 MW unit of Dr Narla Tata Rao thermal power station in Andhra Pradesh

Reportedly, Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO) has synchronised the eighth unit of the Dr Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Project with the grid.

The 800 MW unit, installed on 80 acres of land, has been built with supercritical technology and an energy-efficient turbine and generator. The unit is likely to be commercially operational by July 2023. With the synchronisation of the new unit, the thermal installed capacity of APGENCO has touched 8,789 MW.  Notably, earlier in March 2023, the 800 MW unit-3 of the Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station was also commissioned by APGENCO.
