UAE inaugurates 900 MW fifth phase of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has inaugurated the fifth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, adding an additional 900 MW of capacity to the largest single-site solar park.

DEWA and a consortium led by ACWA Power and the Gulf Investment Corporation, own 60 per cent and 40 per cent of the project respectively. The project has been implemented on independent power producer model. The total capacity of the solar energy projects commissioned at the solar park has reached 2,427MW from photovoltaic solar panels and concentrated solar power (CSP). The total capacity of the projects under construction at the solar park is 433 MW from CSP. The solar park has a planned capacity of 5,000 MW by 2030 with a total investment of AED50 billion.
