NovaWind signs MoU to conduct feasibility studies for 372 MW of wind farms in Myanmar

NovaWind, a unit of Rosatom, has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the Government of Myanmar to conduct feasibility studies for 372 MW of wind farms in the country.

NovaWind, Ministry of Electric Power of Myanmar, and Myanmar’s Primus Advanced Technologies Limited will carry out a feasibility study for the construction of 172 MW of wind parks in the region of Magway in central Myanmar. As part of the initiative, the company will collect wind measurement data at two sites in Minhla and Midon districts where it plans to install plants of 116 MW and 56 MW, respectively. Preparations for early development works on the projects are expected to be launched soon. In another development, NovaWind, Ministry of Electric Power of Myanmar, along with Myanmar’s Zeya & Associates, will collaborate to carry out a feasibility study for the construction of a 200 MW wind farm in Kyaukpadaung and Nyaung-U in the central region of Mandalay. Besides feasibility study, the parties will conduct wind measurements related to the project.
