EESL to launch National Programme on Clean Cooking

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is set to launch its National Programme on Clean Cooking. Ahead of the launch, EESL hosted a workshop with leading manufacturers and solution providers in the clean cooking space in India. The objective of the workshop was to facilitate knowledge exchange and discussions on state-of-the-art technologies in the clean cooking space, and the kind of appliances available in India. The National Programme on Clean Cooking is one of the many initiatives undertaken by EESL in the energy efficiency space. Its programmes, such as Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All, the Street Lighting National Programme, the Smart Metering National Programme, the Buildings Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP), and the Super-Efficient AC Programme, have together helped in reducing the annual energy consumption by 57 billion units. These programmes have helped in avoiding peak demand to the tune of 11,200 MW, and have eliminated 45.5 million tonnes of CO2 annually.
