Meghalaya government and NTPC collaborate to enhance power infrastructure and clean energy generation

The Meghalaya government has entered into a series of memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NTPC Limited to enhance power sector scenario in the state.

The power portfolio management services (PMS) MoU aims to streamline the management and operations of Meghalaya discom, ensuring efficient power distribution and improved service delivery to the people. It also focuses on better power portfolio management of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited and the utilisation of renewable and green energy resources available in the country. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to enhance the power infrastructure and reduce transmission losses by leveraging NTPC’s project management expertise. Another MoU is for the development of pumped storage projects and floating solar projects in Meghalaya. It also aims at exploring the untapped potential of small hydro projects.
