Vietnam’s CPMB energises 220 kV Bac Giang–Lang Son transmission line

State-owned Electricity of Vietnam’s (EVN) subsidiary, Central Power Projectv Management Board (CPMB) in coordination with National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and Power Transmission Company No. 1, has energised the 220 kV Bac Giang–Lang Son transmission line and installed a second transformer at the 220 kV Lang Son substation.

These initiatives will strengthen the power supply in the northern region and enable more reliable and secure operation of the 220 kV and 110 kV power grids in the area. The projects are owned by EVNNPT, implemented by CPMB and operated by Power Transmission Company No. 1. The Bac Giang–Lang Son transmission line spans 101.6 km between the 220 kV Bac Giang and Lang Son substations. The installation of the second transformer, with a capacity of 250 MVA, took place at the existing Lang Son substation in Con Chu village, Phu Xa commune in the Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, increasing the substation’s total capacity to 375 MVA. This expansion will be able to meet the growing energy demands of the region more effectively.
