South Korea’s Taihan secures USD65 million contract in Kuwait

South Korea-based wire and cable maker, Taihan Electric Wire, has won an order worth USD65 million, for an extra-high voltage (EHV)  power grid turnkey project by the Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and Water & Renewable Energy (MEW).

Taihan will be responsible for constructing an underground grid that will connect to an existing substation in Kuwait City, the capital of Kuwait, to address the increasing electricity demands of the city in a seamless manner. The scope of works includes the provision of 300 kV class EHV cables and accessories, grid design, installation, connection, and testing. Taihan will oversee all phases of the project, ensuring its successful implementation and integration into the existing infrastructure.
