The Ministry of Power (MoP) has issued amendment in the standard bidding documents (SBDs) for procurement of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) through tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) process to include provisions for technical qualification requirement with respect to high voltage direct current (HVDC) systems.
The amendment mandates the bidders to specify experience of developing projects in the infrastructure sector in the last ten years, as compared to five years experience earlier. Further, the capital expenditure of atleast one project must meet the specified capital expenditure threshold outlined in the bidding documents. This relaxation in technical requirement of HVDC system will be effective for a period of two years from date of issue of this order.
