Manila Electric Company (Meralco) will invest PHP18 billion to add to its renewable energy portfolio in the Philippines.
The investment was made by Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGen), a subsidiary of Meralco, which will develop around 2 GW of gross solar and wind energy. The projects are expected to be completed by 2030. The company has additional renewable energy projects in the pipeline that will reduce direct emissions by 20 per cent by 2030. This includes the 49 MWac solar plant in Isabela and the 18.75 MWac solar plant in Nueva Ecija.
