Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) has signed a JPY 1.85 billion loan agreement with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for a waste-to-energy project in Karnataka.
The agreement was signed under the long-term facility of JPY 30 billion provided by JBIC to PFC. The loan will fund the 11.5 MW waste-to-energy project by KPC Gas Power Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited, in Bidadi, Karnataka. This initiative aims to effectively utilise 600 tpd of segregated municipal solid waste for energy generation through incineration using moving grate technology provided by Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited.
