PFC secures JBIC financing for another waste-to-energy project

Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) has signed a JPY 1.85 billion loan agreement with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for financing a waste-to-energy project in Karnataka. The agreement was signed under a long-term facility of JPY 30 billion provided by JBIC to PFC. The loan will fund the 11.5 MW waste-to-energy project by KPC Gas Power Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of Karnataka Power Corpo­ration Limited, in Bidadi, Karnataka. This initiative aims to effectively utilise 600 tpd of segregated municipal solid waste for energy generation through incineration, using moving grate technology provided by Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited.
