CIL announces Rs 240 billion investment in 61 FMC projects

Coal India Limited (CIL) has planned a capital investment of around Rs 247.5 billion for the development of 61 first mile connectivity (FMC) projects in a push towards eco-friendly coal transportation.

These projects will be executed in three phases and, upon completion, will collectively have a capacity of 763.5 million tonnes per annum. FMC projects involve transportation of coal in mechanised piped conveyors from production point to coal handling plants/silos with rapid loading system, where coal is loaded directly into rail wagons.
