Reportedly, Meghalaya government has approved termination of two hydro power projects (HPPs) due to financial non-viability and high rates and delays in implementation.
These are Kynshi Stage I HPP on Kynshi river of West Khasi Hills and Upper Khri HPP Stage-I and II. The former project was being implemented on Kynshi river and the latter ones in the West Khasi hills district of Meghalaya.
