The Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore has awarded conditional approvals (CAs) to five energy projects in Indonesia under its plan to import 4 GW of low-carbon electricity from neighbouring countries by 2035.
The facilities will jointly supply around 2 GW of clean energy once operations commence in 2027. Approvals were granted to projects owned by a unit of PT Adaro Clean Energy Indonesia, Medco Power Global pass-through entity (PTE), Keppel Energy PTE Limited, EDP Renewables APAC and a unit of Gurin Energy PTE Limited. Together, these projects will add around 11 GW of solar capacity as well as 21 GWh of battery energy storage capacity.
