ADB collaborates to digitalise Uzbekistan’s power distribution infrastructure

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD200 million loan to facilitate the modernisation and digitisation of Uzbekistan’s power distribution system, contributing to the enhancement of the nation’s energy efficiency and reliability.

Under ADB’s Distribution Network Digital Transformation and Resiliency Project, 26 distribution substations across the country’s regions will be upgraded to digital substations, including a supervisory control and data acquisition system. The project will also help strengthen the financial management capacity of Regional Electric Power Networks, the state-owned distribution company.
