REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has handed over the project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV), Beawar Transmission Limited, to Sterlite Grid 27 Limited.
The selection of Sterlite Grid 27 was carried out through tariff-based competitive bidding carried out by RECPDCL for selection of transmission service provider in line with the standard bidding documents and guidelines thereof as notified by Ministry of Power. This transfer is a significant step in India’s ambitious 500 GW renewable energy plan. The SPV is entrusted with the responsibility of constructing a 765/400 kV sub-station in Beawar, Rajasthan, along with a 765 kV double circuit line and an associated 400 kV line within the state. The project is targeted for completion within 18 months and is strategically designed to facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy from Rajasthan’s renewable energy zones.
