Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Limited, has announced its plans to develope a 41 MW captive solar plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
TPREL will set up the project for Tata Power Dolar Limited’s 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility located at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The solar installation is anticipated to generate a substantial 101 million units of electricity annually, resulting in the reduction of approximately 72,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. The project is expected to be commissioned within 12 months of signing the project development agreement.
