Hitachi Energy has facilitated the integration of more than 150 GW of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) links into the power system globally, which is sufficient to meet Japan’s peak power demand. The announcement follows the successful delivery of power from Dogger Bank, the world’s largest offshore wind project, utilising HVDC technology for the first time in a UK wind farm.
