Adani Energy Solutions Limited has commissioned the Kharghar Vikhroli Transmission Limited (KVTL) project, aimed at providing an additional 1,000 MW of power to Mumbai.
The project is considered critical as the existing transmission corridor’s capacity is insufficient for the city’s growing power needs. The project comprises of approximately 74 ckt km of 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines. Notably, it includes Mumbai’s first 1,500 MVA 400 kV gas insulated substation in Vikhroli, designed for compactness and efficient space utilisation, occupying around 9,500 sq m.
