Singapore EMA approves cross-border RE project in Indonesia

Vanda Renewable Energy Private Limited, a joint venture comprising Gurin Energy Private Limited and Gentari International Renewables, has secured conditional approval from the Energy Market Authority (EMA) to import clean energy from Indonesia to Singapore.

The project aims to deliver around 300 MW of renewable energy by 2027. The facility, located on Riau Island, will feature 2,000 MW of solar photovoltaic installed capacity and will be secured with 4,400 MWh of battery storage.  The consortium will also partner with industry leaders to invest in solar and battery manufacturing plants in Indonesia. The cross-border transmission project will support the Governments of Singapore and Indonesia’s aim to establish a green electricity trading corridor between the two countries.
