Fluence Energy Incorporation has secured a contract for the deployment of a 40 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) at three geothermal sites in the Philippines.
The sites are located in the city of Sorsogon, the island of Leyte and the municipality of Negros Occidental. The BESS assets will charge and store energy generated by the geothermal plants during off-peak times, and supply the power to the grid when demand rises. Meanwhile, First Balfour has been appointed to cover the engineering, procurement and construction duties for the complete balance of plant and transmission grid-related connection assets.
