MNRE unveils Rs 4 billion R&D plan for National Green Hydrogen Mission

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has unveiled a Rs 4 billion research and development (R&D) roadmap for the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

The roadmap seeks to provide guidance for developing a R&D ecosystem which can help commercialise green hydrogen and contribute to India’s ambitious climate and energy goals. It focuses on developing new materials, technologies, and infrastructure to improve the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of green hydrogen production, storage, and transportation. The R&D program will also prioritise safety and address technical barriers and challenges in developing a hydrogen economy. Additionally, the government has launched the green hydrogen page on ‘The National Single Window System,’ providing a unified platform for industries to obtain approvals for National Green Hydrogen Mission projects.
