Singapore-based Sembcorp Utilities and PT PLN (Persero) have signed a joint development study agreement to develop green hydrogen production in Indonesia.
The project is expected to produce around 100,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually from local renewable energy resources. The project is part of a plan to establish a low-carbon hydrogen supply chain within the ASEAN region. The project aims to produce green hydrogen via electrolysis of water. The produced green hydrogen will be exported to Singapore through a subsea pipeline. Additionally, it aligns with Singapore’s 2050 net-zero target.
