Indonesia-based PT Marubeni Global has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tuas Power to export green electricity to Singapore.
Under the USD9 billion deal, Tuas Power will purchase electricity from Marubeni’s solar farm on Batam Island. The project will have a maximum capacity of 4.1 GWp and an additional 10 GWp stored in battery energy storage systems. Meanwhile, Sembcorp Industries, IHI Corporation and GE Vernova have also signed a MoU to explore retrofitting the Sakra power plant, located on Jurong Island, with ammonia-firing capabilities.
