The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has approved SJVN Limited’s detailed project reports (DPRs) for two hydroelectric projects (HEPs) worth around Rs 400 billion.
The CEA has transferred concurrences of these DPRs and also extended the validity of the said concurrences. The projects are Etalin HEP of 3,097 MW, and 680 MW Attunli HEP. The Etalin HEP is the largest HEP under development in the country. The project cost of Etalin HEP at price level of March 2022 is Rs 328.13 billion, whereas for Attunli HEP, it is Rs 68.66 billion. On commissioning, the Etalin HEP will generate 12,752 million units (MUs) of electricity and Etalin HEP will generate 2,814 MUs. The levelised tariff from both the projects is Rs 4.51 per unit.
