Uttarakhand notifies Green Energy Open Access 2023 Regulations

The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) has notified Green Energy Open Access Regulations 2023.

These regulations, as outlined by the UERC, are applicable to facilitate connectivity and open access to green energy for customers using intra-state transmission system or the distribution system or both, even when such system is utilised in conjunction with interstate transmission system. It is emphasized that a generating station, whether captive or for general consumption, cannot apply for long-term, medium-term, or short-term open access without obtaining or applying for connectivity to intra-state transmission system or the distribution system. Furthermore, individuals have the option to apply simultaneously for connectivity and long-term, medium-term, or short-term open access. According to the UERC notification, consumers with a contracted demand or sanctioned load of 100 kW or more, either through a single connection or multiple connections under the same consumer name totaling 100 kW or more within the same electricity division of a distribution licensee, are eligible for green energy open access. There is no restriction for other customers, including captive consumers and renewable energy generators, participating in or supplying power through green energy open access. However, it is stipulated that customers must maintain the approved capacity/schedule for a minimum of 12 time blocks per day.
