Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has started commercial operations at its state-of-the-art 5.0 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) Madhuband washery.
This advanced washery, known for its logistical efficiency and cutting-edge technology, has positioned itself as one of India’s largest coking coal washeries. It plays a pivotal role in realising the vision of AtmaNirbhar Bharat by contributing to increased supplies of washed coking coal to the steel sector, thereby curbing the need for foreign exchange outflows through coking coal imports. The washery is designed to ensure a steady supply of consistently high-quality washed coking coal to the steel sector, promoting efficient utilisation of India’s limited coking coal reserves through advanced washing processes.
