NTPC Group has reached a milestone by achieving the fastest-ever electricity generation of 300 billion units (BUs) on December 18, 2023.
This remarkable feat was accomplished in just 262 days within the fiscal year 2023-24, surpassing the target by 18 days compared to the previous financial year. In 2022-23, the 300 BU generation milestone was reached on January 5, 2023. On a standalone basis, NTPC stations recorded a generation of 256 BU in 2023-24. This achievement underscores NTPC’s unwavering commitment to providing reliable and affordable power to the nation. With an installed capacity of around 74 GW and over 18 GW, including 5 GW in renewables, under construction, NTPC is dedicated to achieving 60 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2032. In addition to power generation, NTPC has expanded its reach into various new business areas, including e-mobility, waste-to-energy, and green hydrogen solutions. The company has also participated in the bidding for power distribution in Union Territories.
