Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has secured a project to transmit power from a 20 GW renewable energy zone in Rajasthan.
The project involves establishing two 765kV D/C transmission lines that will pass through Rajasthan and Delhi. Additionally, it includes bay extension works at existing substations in both Rajasthan and Delhi. Powergrid emerged as the successful bidder through tariff-based competitive bidding to establish inter-state transmission system (ISTS) for “Transmission system for evacuation of power from REZ in Rajasthan (20GW) under Phase-III Part D – Phase I,” based on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis.
