In a significant development, India and Nepal have signed a long-term agreement for the export of 10,000 MW of power to India over the next decade.
The agreement, signed during the seventh meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission, marks a crucial step in bilateral cooperation to strengthening energy ties between the two nations. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for collaboration in renewable energy was inked between the Nepal Electricity Authority and NTPC Limited during the same event. This significant move reflects the shared commitment towards sustainable and cooperative energy initiatives in the region.
