The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has notified draft CERC (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) Regulations, 2024.
As per the draft, the tariffs for generating stations and emission control systems, if applicable, can be determined for the entire station or unit, while transmission system tariffs apply to the whole system or its elements. For units or systems in commercial operation before April 1, 2024, a consolidated petition must be filed for tariff determination from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2029. The tariffs for communication systems associated with transmission, operational before April 1, 2014, shall follow the methodology approved by the commission before that date. Further, the generating companies must apply for supplementary tariff determination for emission control systems in coal or lignite-based thermal stations within 90 days of their operation, following the specified regulations.
