Semarak Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd (Semarak RE) has signed a RM1.88 billion agreement with China Hydropower (Malaysia) Company Limited, a unit of PowerChina International Limited to develop the first large-scale green hydrogen production project with floating photovoltaic (PV) power generation system in Malaysia.
The project will involve the development of green hydrogen production and storage by deploying floating PV power generation. The scope of the project will include designing, procurement, and construction of floating PV, hydrogen production and storage units.
