SJVN wins GUVNL auction for 100 MW solar project

SJVN Limited has secured the entire allocated capacity of a 100 MW solar power project through an e-reverse auction coundected by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

The project, awarded at a tariff of Rs 2.54 per unit on build own and operate basis, resulted from a competitive bidding process in GUVNL Phase XXI. Executed by the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), the ground mounted solar project is estimated to cost around Rs 5.50 billion. The project shall be executed by SGEL in solar park being developed by Gujarat Industrial Power Corporation Limited in Khavda, Gujarat through engineering, procurement, and construction contract. The power purchase agreement (PPA) will be executed after issuance of letter of award from GUVNL. The project is expected to generate about 252 million units (MUs) in its first year of commissioning and the cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be about 5,866 MUs. Further, the commissioning of this solar project is anticipated to reduce 287,463 tonnes of carbon emissions.
