Dennis Rajan is the resident engineer of the Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL), liaison office in New Delhi, having over 29 years of experience in the state electricity sector (generation/transmission and distribution). He has been an electrical and mechanical specialist in the Delhi Metro Rail from 2012 to 2018.
Rajan oversees diverse matters with key union ministries such as power, renewable and non-renewable energy, external affairs, home affairs, finance, economic affairs, heavy industries and urban affairs. His responsibilities encompass representing KSEBL in meetings and related activities, both in Delhi and at KSEBL headquarters in ThiruvanaÂnthaÂpuram. His multifaceted role extends to coordinating proposals, maÂnaging legal cases in the Supreme Court, CenÂtral ElecÂtricity Regulatory CommÂiÂssion, Appellate TriÂbÂuÂnal for Electricity, NatÂional ConÂsuÂmer Disputes RedÂreÂssal CoÂmmission, NatÂional ComÂpany Law AppÂellate Tribunal and others.
According to Rajan, the energy sector in Kerala is vibrant, consistently embÂrÂacing advanced technology through regular upgrades. Utilising cutting-edge technology ensures uninterrupted 24×7 high quality power supply, positioning KSEBL favourably. Ongoing projects focus on power generation from hydro, solar and the emerging clean energy source of hydrogen. Numerous memorable assignments have left a lasting impact throughout his extensive career.
Assuming a leadership role, Rajan spearheaded a campaign for KSEBL along with renowned Malayalam movie stars. Through television advertisements, this initiative became the driving force behind a significant reduction in power consumption across the state. Public
participation in the campaign was wholeheartedly embraced by the people of Kerala, enabling KSEBL to successfully navigate a challenging period of acute power shortages, ensuring uninterrupted power supply without load shedding for five consecutive years.
While serving as an E&M engineer for the Kochi Metro, Rajan took charge of commissioning 12 metro stations, ensuÂring compliance with the CommÂissioner of Metro Railway Safety inspection requirements. The successful completion and handover of the project within the designated time frame were crucial achievements during this role.
